Just a friendly reminder...
Please don't forget to get your Spring classes as soon as possible & get you school schedule firmed up. Students ARE registering for classes now, and classes are start to fill up.
A list of the courses I teach next Spring semester are listed below. My classes always fill up. So, sign up quick.
Please note that *Any* student can take CIS-160 Intro to Cybersecurity class. CIS-160 is a very introductory and easy course to introduce you to Cybersecurity, which is a important skill in many jobs. I will waive the prerequisite for any/all students.

CIS-041-104 Introduction to Computer Information Systems
COURSE REQ # Req# 111044
COURSE MODALITY This is an on-campus course. That runs for a shorter 12 weeks (instead of 16 weeks), under the ‘late start’ term. There are meeting days and meetings times. COURSE MEETING DAYS/TIMES Thursdays 10:45 AM – 2:50 PM This is a “late start” Spring 23 class. that runs from approximately 2/27/2023 – 5/26/2023 COURSE PREREQUISITE None. COURSE DESCRIPTION This introductory course is designed for students from any and all majors that need to use a computer to actually get work done! In this course students learn the fundamentals of how computers work. Students become more capable using Microsoft Office productivity tools to finish tasks. The course is taught through hands-on projects to solve business problems that people need to perform in school, personal projects, and professional projects – like creating an effective slide presentation and producing an excellent cover letter needed to apply for a job or internship.

COURSE MODALITY This is an on-campus course that includes an online lecture. There are meeting days and meetings times. COURSE MEETING DAYS/TIMES Monday 6:00 PM – 7:50 PM 1/30 – 5/26 COURSE PREREQUISITE Students should have taken at least one programming course before taking this course. The course will be taught using the Java programming language. The course does have a prerequisite of either CIS-054 C/C++ or CIS-084 Java Programming. Students who are proficient and confident in their Python skills can ask the Professor & their Counselor for permission to take the course. Once approved, the prerequisite can be waived for you. COURSE DESCRIPTION Data Structures is the most important course in computer science for securing a job as a software engineer. All software engineering job interviews ask questions and give programming tests for candidates on data structures. Understanding data structures is a core skill for all engineers. This course dives in-depth on how to write fast CPU-efficient code that runs using less memory using data structures and algorithms. Students learn important data structures and algorithms that are key to job interview questions. Students will leave the class with a fundamental understanding of how to write performant algorithms using data structures and be more prepared to interview.
CIS-160-101 Intro to Information Systems Security

COURSE MODALITY. This is a fully on-line asynchronous course. There are no meeting days nor meetings times COURSE MEETING DAYS/TIMES None 1/30 – 5/26 COURSE PREREQUISITE This course also has a prerequisite. But, students certainly do not need it. Simply ask your counselor to waive the prerequisite or have them contact me directly as needed. The course can be taken by anybody, and many students have done this successfully. . COURSE DESCRIPTION
This is an introductory cybersecurity course that introduces students to fundamental concepts and techniques in cybersecurity. Students learn about security and risk management at an organizational level. Students gain knowledge in hardware, software, processes, communications, applications, and policies and procedures for organizational Cybersecurity and Risk Management. This course helps to prepare students for CompTIA Security certification exams
